For me, it was a decades-long journey to learn to accept and love my entire body, free from shame or guilt.

For a long time, I couldn’t even find any visual appeal in my vulva.

Instead of honoring and appreciating this unique miracle of a reproductive, excretory, and pleasure organ in all its functional glory, I was long plagued by feelings of worthlessness, pressure to perform, and repression. As a result, I didn’t even come close to connecting with its full potential and energy.

 

I’m no exception. Even today, many women feel the same way.

They also tend to judge their own bodies—and those of other women—much more harshly and compare them far more frequently than men do.

With the Carolin Life art project, I want to inspire us all to practice more unconditional self-love and, in particular, encourage women to embrace their entire femininity with greater ease and appreciation.
